Professor Jacques Le Coz

Respecting the invitation of the Medica Aesthetica Center of Education, on the 11.09.2010, worldly renowned expert in mesotherapy, Professor Jacques Le Coz, stayed in Belgrade. He gave a series of lectures from this area to our doctors, with practical demonstration of mesotherapy techniques. On numerous journalists’ questions, professor Le Coz answered:

“I have been training doctors from all over the world in France for 25 years now, who intend to practice mesotherapy. They come to my ordination on independent trainings, they train mesotherapy on my patients (so-called hands on courses), and so I have trained some doctors from Serbia. One of them, Doctor Marina Stolic, has invited me to come to Belgrade and have a course like that in her Center. According to her wish, the course will be dealing with use of mesotherapy in esthetics, and that will be the main topic of my lectures: about cellulite, hair loss, localized layers of fat, mesoglow and mesolift techniques, scare therapy…; but I have included into my program a half hour lecture about treating pain with mesotherapy. This is extraordinary area of medicine and I can recommend it to everyone who wants to experience challenges of science.

My uncle, 33 years ago, while I was still a student of medicine, encouraged me to study and practice mesotherapy. On one occasion, he met doctor Pistor, pioneer of this method; told him about me, so doctor Pistor suggested me to come and visit him. When we met and when he shortly explained me what mesotherapy is, I realized that I was drawn to it, so I started to go to him regularly, and he instructed me to go to one of his assistants to practice “meso”.

I apply mesotherapy in esthetical purposes for over 30 years, although my specialty is pain, traumatology. Since 1977, so from the beginning, I have worked esthetics, as I was thought from doctor Pistor.

Esthetical use of mesotherapy is relatively new procedure. It is based on scientific researches and evidence. In my book “Mesotherapy and lipolysis” I wrote to the detail about all scientific work behind treating pain and mesolift. And I have just spoken this to the doctors at the education in Medica Aesthetica Center and to my students, now successful educators doctors Marina and Dragan Stolic that I am sure that we have reached established goals of this education.

Professor Jacque La Coz spoke about the best results that mesolift and mesoglow give for face and hands, about androgenic alopecia which is successfully treated with mesotherapy (loss of hair with men) as well as successful treatment of scars with mesotherapy. Professor pointed out that “strije” are not sutitable for mesotherapy treatment. This is possible if mesotherapy is combined with other treatments which he illustrated with case studies.

Education involves theoretical and practical part which is dedicated to esthetics and safety, namely explaining phosphatidycholine which is very efficient for treating cellulite and localized layers of fat. “Only an experienced doctor can avoid the danger of using phosphatidycholine.”

Special topic was dedicated to cocktails for face treatment, their safety and efficiency. Professor pointed out that the most effective cocktail is with hyaluron acid and multivitamins. Doctors overcame through practical use the most important thing: what dosage to use, how to dissolve cocktails and when to decide for one of two kinds of hyaluron acid: netlike, which is used for fillers, and free one, which is used for mesotherapy.

Age for mesolift or mesoglow was special topic of this education as well as codes of professional ethics which are imperative of this future profession. His educationprofessor ended with words that bind every one of us: “The doctor has to be honest and educated.”

All participants of this representative education got international certificate, and this lecture was scored from the Serbian chamber of doctors.

Professor is international coordinator of studies for mesotherapy and education. Until now, he has trained 2500 doctors in Paris and 500 in the USA in applying in esthetical treatments, sports medicine and pain therapy. Principals of mesotherapy according to Professor Le Coz:

• Mesotherapy can be used in treating a large number, but not all indications in all areas of medicine

• Patient doesn’t feel pain during the treatment, and a doctor must not cause hematoma as a result of giving injections
• Size of needles, content of cocktails, dosage, number of injections and their localization depend on the precise diagnose which the doctor gives during the examination.

What does education include?
The education includes theoretical and practical part.  

Theoretical part:
Students meet modern concept of filler usage, their absolute and relative indications, counter indications, undesired effects and their recovery. They get to know and learn how to approach a patient and that includes maximum dedication to use of the latest methods and materials and maximum caution measures during the work and treatment of the patient, so that the whole treatment for the patient could be safe, painless and comfortable.

Practical part:
Inside the practical part doctors work on their own on the patients and use hylauron fillers, namely, they are not passive bystanders, but they gain their knowledge in interactive relation. Before the contact with the patient, they have the opportunity to practice on dolls and artificial skin.

Which skills will beginners of education overmaster?  
A technique for use of hylauron fillers are numerous, but are always identical no matter what brand of fillers is being used. At the present time, there are around 60 good brands in the world. We have a poor choice of brands in our country, but if we take into the account that we expect progress in this particular area of medicine, the choice of brands will grow as the market grows.  

What is the number of beginners per education?  
Education is done hands - on - expert to expert system. Maximum number of students in one education is five.

What does the education involve?

Mesotherapy  

The sole concept of mesotherapy involves injection of active substances into the medium layer of skin (mesoderm), and depending on the cocktail injected, different effects can be achieved, and concept of mezotherapy can be used in different areas of medicine, like: dermatology, rheumatology, dentistry, esthetical medicine, sports medicine, physical medicine…

Inside the theoretical part of education, beginners gain theoretical knowledge from all kinds of areas of use of mesotherapy. Practical part includes primarily practice of more that one technique from area of esthetical medicine on the artificial skin, and than students apply their newly gained knowledge on patients- models.  

Lipolysis  

Lipolysis implies injection of active substances which bring to melting of localized layers of fat. Introducing with theoretical concept for all areas of localized layers of fat – face, chin, stomach, ties, hips, knees, and calfs.  

Which skills with beginners learn during the education?

Beginners will master mesotherapeutical skills which bring to regeneration and revitalization, stretching and rejuvenating skin of the face, neck and cleavage. After that they will master skills linked to use of mesotherapy on the body – loss of volume, loss of cellulite, skin stretching after the influence of several factors (giving birth, loss of weight). Also, beginners master the skills of injecting cytolysis cocktails in all regions that can be treated, and knowledge they gained test on artificial skin, after which they apply it on patients- models.  

Which active substances are used?

Knowledge from the area of pharmacology is gained and it is linked to three basic groups of active substances, and those are: ones which have lipolysis effect, one which have influence on improving circulation and the third group which bring to stimulation of fiber plast which effects the ejaculation of collagen.

What is the number of students per education?
Education is done hands - on - expert to expert system. Maximum number of students in one education is five.
