What is lipolysis?

We are everyday witnesses of increase of number of obese people. There are some which are successful in adopting regular diet-hygiene regimes of nutrition, whose wish to be healthy, slim and pretty is (strong enough) of high enough intensity that they manage to endure to the wanted goal, namely, they manage to get their weight to the ideal one. However, (and in these cases it can happen that loss of kilograms doesn’t come along with reduction of volume in critical areas; layers of fat stay in critical areas and disrupt the ideal of harmonic and irresistible figure) we are often witnesses that even though someone succeeds in losing kilograms and accomplishes a wanted weight, there are still layers of fat in critical areas that disrupt the ideal of harmonic, idyllic line. The most common problems in female population are hips, ties, stomach and arms, while in the male part of the population, in most cases, critical area is stomach. Big stomach volume (and this is not only esthetical problem but the health issue also, since is directly related with the high risk of…) is in direct proportion with the risk of getting cardiovascular diseases.

What does the treatment of lipolysis looks like?

This method is completely painless because local anesthetic is applied. Lipolysis cocktail is injected into the fat, and during the next month it melts layers of fat. On the place of injection mild shingles can occur and itchy feeling in the next day or two. A couple of bruises can also occur which go away in a few days. During the next month from the moment of injection of lipolysis cocktail it is necessary for the patient to eat healthy and not to consume alcohol.

How does the lipolysis work and what results can I expect?

We can also call lipolysis “neurosurgical liposuction” because it works in a similar way as a surgery – it removes a local problem, namely, it removes local layers of fat. In that way, through the series of treatments of 2-6 and more, you get the effect of removal of layers of fat from the wanted place thanks to substances which, if injected locally in small amounts, stimulate cells to use fat for energy, and also dissolute cell wall of fat cell. So, by using lipolysis, you reduce the number of fat cells which is extremely important and that’s why there is no yo-yo effect. It should be emphasized that with the regular diet without lipolysis there is no reduction of cell numbers but they are merely shrinking as we lose weight, i.e. they pump out, and we know very well how easy they can pump back again. In a period of one month size can be reduced from 5-10 cm. Treatment of lipolysis is repeated in 4-5 weeks from 2-6 times.

What is injected in fat tissue, are there any side effects?

Active substances are injected directly into the fat tissue and they synergistically work to melt layers of fat in the next manner:

• They melt the wall of fat cell and release droplets of fat (fatty acids)
• Fatty acids hydrolyzed and make them soluble in liquid environment.
• Fatty acids outside of fat cells are signal that macrofossils (cleaners of our organism) are coming to the place of action and take away fatty acids into the liver where they are further metabolized.


Counter indications for use of lipolysis are pregnancy, breast-feeding, active malignant and autoimmune deceases, and infective states. Before the treatment biochemical analyses of blood need to be done, as well as detailed systematic examination and talk with the patient for making of individually adopted regime of treatment and getting the best effect.
